The EFCC’s Lower Pacific District was founded in 1983. We serve BC’s Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island and on the islands off its eastern shore.
Though our District is compact geographically, we are very diverse. A trip across our district will take only nine hours and two ferries. Our district currently has 31 churches and several church plants. Our churches range in size from less than 50 to more than 600 in rural, suburban and urban settings. We are also the most diverse district with ministries in eight different languages, and serving people from several continents.
Our commitment as a District is to encourage and resource our District churches to health, fruitfulness and multiplication. We believe that God will accomplish more through us as we work together than when we work alone.
Rob Stewart, District Superintendent
Rob is one of the few among us who was born, raised and has served in the Evangelical Free Church of Canada context. After serving with Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship (while attending Parkdale EFC in Victoria), he served as Senior Pastor of the North Delta Evangelical Free Church for seventeen years. In 2002, he became District Superintendent of the Lower Pacific District, which covers south-western BC.
Rob and his wife Karen have four children, three daughters-in-law and six grandchildren. When not serving churches, Rob and Karen can be found camping in the rain or sailing. Rob has a passion to serve the local church, pastors and volunteer leaders. Above his desk is a sign that reads, “Have I made a difference in the local church today?” This reflects Rob’s heart and the purpose of our district, “… by God’s grace, we are committed to encourage and resource our growing family of churches to reflect Jesus Christ.”
