Bombings in Dnepro, Ukraine

, , ,

Earlier today, four explosions rocked the city of Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine. They happened in the middle of the day, starting at 11:50am local time. For several years, this city has been the hub of the EFCCM’s efforts in the country.

All of our missionaries have reported that they are safe.

Daryl, our Europe Area Director, has pointed out that these explosions were not designed to inflict maximum harm. The injuries that are being reported were mostly caused by debris like breaking glass and flying concrete. According to media accounts, 27 people were injured, but so far no deaths have been reported. However, some officials are classifying these bombings as acts of terrorism.

More information about the explosions specifically are available from this external news site.

Please pray for the victims and their families who are dealing with the effects directly. Pray for the Ukrainian people who will feel rattled by this for a long time to come. Pray for justice, and for peace, particularly among either politicians who would try to leverage this for their agendas, or other sources that would benefit from baseless speculation. And pray for the continued safety of our missionaries and their families as they face the uncertainties this has caused.

If more information is forthcoming, we will publish it here.

PulseTV — Special Conference Edition

, , , , , , ,

In this edition of PulseTV, Bill and Rich take a moment to share some of our hopes for this year’s Conference. In it we answer questions like:

  • Who is Conference for?
  • What does Viral Leaders really mean?
  • Why are we so excited about Larry Osborne being the plenary speaker?
  • When is Conference?
  • Where is it?

Registration costs $175 per Conference attendee, and there are a few optional extras. You can find out everything you need by clicking here — that link will also lead you to the Conference registration page.

Oh, and if you haven’t seen the teaser video for EFCC Conference 2012 (below), you really should! We had a lot of fun making this one!

Here is a fun little video presentation from Agua Yaku in Bolivia. Having seen this firsthand, I can honestly tell you that it doesn’t really go this quickly. :-)

Do Denominations Still Matter?

We at the EFCC hesitate to call ourselves a denomination. We are more likely to choose the word movement. And yet, there are enough similarities between the two that a conversation on one can meaningfully speak to the other.

In that light, you may appreciate this article from Relevant magazine asking the question:

Do Denominations Still Matter?

Do you have thoughts on this? What might you add or remove when considering us as a movement?
