This update comes from Eddie and Bonita serving in Rwanda, Africa. The country recently marked 20 years since the terrible genocide rocked that nation, and the whole world. Eddie was recently interviewed on TV about his perspective — that clip is linked to at the end of this post.

Construction in progress

We have a good start on construction of the new CentrePEACE church outside Kigali, Rwanda. People are coming to Christ, believers are growing in their faith, choirs are singing, and young ministers are learning to preach the Word. All are eagerly anticipating the switch to a church with walls and a roof.

Three walls are built, only one more to go before we raise the roof!

Many of our church people, including a large number of women, have been hired to help with construction on tasks that don’t require special skills. This provides much needed income.

We are all very excited about the EFCC’s Women’s Ministries new project unveiled at Conference. Zimbabwe is facing extreme poverty and debilitating disease, which has pushed the average life expectancy to under 30 years old.

This project is an effort to bring assistance to Zimbabweans, to show compassion, and to share hope.

The nuts and bolts of project focus on agricultural improvements which are primarily aimed at subsistence farmers, and which will have a benefit on the whole community.

Please share this video with your small groups, your church and anyone else who you think should see it.

You can also contribute to this project right away by visiting our donation page and inputting the project code 2-4040.

We are hard at work on this year’s EFCCM World of Hope impact giving catalogue.

Now we need your input!

Could you tell us how many copies of this your church could use?

We’re prepared to print up to one per person for your church, and there is no cost to you.

Just send us an e-mail at info@efccm.ca with your church’s name, the address and the quantity.

Thanks so much!

For those of you who have been aware of and praying for our Africa Area Director, Petros Yergatian, last week we informed you that he had a pneumonia-like infection and with a treatment of antibiotics, he was on the mend.

Unfortunately, we received word yesterday that he is back in the hospital with more fluid on his lungs. Please continue to pray for his recovery.

Update: Petros was released from Hospital is still a bit short of breath, tired and a times dizzy. He is working from home on some details but also trying to catch up both mission and business items. He is scheduled for another specialist consultation next Wednesday. Please continue to pray for the restoration of his health.
