Who We Are

Office of the Executive Director

Bill Taylor

Executive Director

Bill Taylor serves as the Executive Director of the Evangelical Free Church of Canada, providing visionary leadership and spiritual guidance to the greater EFCC family. He works to ensure that the ethos of the EFCC is in evidence within all of our churches and ministries. Bill is based at the EFCC Home Office in Langley, supporting the team there as it carries out the mission to see lives transformed by the power of the gospel. Even though he is based in Langley, Bill loves to get out of the office and enjoys travelling around Canada to speak. Especially if he can share hotel rooms with Dwight and Neil and their snoring.

Neil Bassingthwaighte

National Mission Director & Interim Prayer Catalyst

As the National Mission Director, Neil coordinates the mission efforts of the EFCC in evangelism, discipleship and church planting across Canada in cooperation with local EFCC churches and other kingdom-minded partner organizations. Neil also provides oversight to the National Mission Leadership Team as they implement new EFCC mission strategies and projects. Neil also functions, unofficially, as the office database of awful jokes.

Brad Jarvis

Communications Catalyst

Brad’s job is to foster mutual awareness and to facilitate action across the entire movement. He is always on the lookout for stories, because they are the best way of making human connections. Brad considers it a joy to continually improve our quality and effectiveness — if you have advice, he’s all ears! Brad enjoys torturing the entire office by presenting relevant communication information in the format of a Mind-map.

Dwight Johnson

Stewardship Catalyst

Dwight Johnson serves as the Stewardship Catalyst of the Evangelical Free Church of Canada, working with churches and individuals across the denomination to secure funding to cover the costs of running the denomination and to further its mission. In addition to both capital and now giving, he also works to support and develop activities that generate resources through longer term endowment funding. Dwight is based at the EFCC home office in Langley but travels extensively throughout western Canada where the vast majority of Evangelical Free churches exist. Dwight also supplies the office unsolicited puns in an unnecessary quantity.

Terry Kaufman

Leadership Catalyst

In his role as Leadership Catalyst, it is both Terry’s role and his passion to work to move leadership forward within all areas of the EFCC — creating environments, opportunities, and resources to help and develop lay leaders, pastoral and ministry leaders, and missionaries. His burden is to create an environment of strong godly leaders who nurture leaders, for today and the future. Terry works out of his home office in Steinbach Manitoba, but in close partnership with the leadership team of the EFCC. As the resident Manitoban and telecommuter, Terry often finds himself at the tail end of an office joke; much to his surprise.

Dave Penner

EFCCM Director

Dave’s role as the EFCCM Director is to give oversight to the international work of the EFCC’s missionaries in over 20 countries and provide leadership to a team of Managers who oversee specific areas of the EFCCM. Dave gets the privilege of visiting mission fields to encourage missionaries as they serve as well travelling to churches across Canada to challenge and motivate people to be a part of the Great Commission through global engagement. Dave also supplies the office with their regulation blue shirt upon hiring, and makes sure to match it with ‘fun’ socks.

Cathy de la Rambelje

Director of Finance & Operations

Cathy oversees the management of the day-to-day financial activity within the organization and the development of and tracking against annual budgets. She also acts as the Home Office Manager, responsible for overall organization and coordination of office administration and procedures, office staff supervision and task delegation. Cathy is unique in her ability to withstand the wild personalities in the office as they meet for a weekly meeting she has to lead. Please pray for her.

Kirby Thompson

Executive Assistant

Kirby holds the responsibility for office support services as required by the Executive Director, the Board of Directors, and Board committees. In addition to planning the EFCC’s annual conferences, he ensures that EFCC documentation like credentialing and good standing for pastors is kept up-to-date, and he maintains a database of information regarding the entire association of EFCC churches. Without Kirby, the majority of personnel in the office of the Executive Director would be lost in the woods.

Ike Agawin

Manager of Personnel and Projects

As the Manager of Personnel & Projects (MPP) Ike is responsible for providing strategic oversight to all EFCCM missionary personnel. Through the development, monitoring and improvement of field strategies and initiatives he helps personnel accomplish the mission, goals and values of the EFCCM. The MPP also ensures each missionary and project is well represented to their support team. The name Ike means ‘He Will Laugh’ and that is an apt description of Ike that the office can attest to.

Lisa Beiderwieden

Manager of Missionary Care

Lisa serves as an advocate for, and practitioner of, Missionary Care (MMC) through the implementation and coordination of a multi-layered, organization-wide MC model. She spends her time ensuring intentional connections between Missionaries, Home Office Staff, the team of managers, Regional Ministry Facilitators, Churches, and Host Missionaries. You’ll find her debriefing missionary couples, helping facilitate regional gatherings or just plain helping people have fun; sometimes forcefully.

Jennifer Humphries

Administrative Assistant to the EFCCM Director

As the Administrative Assistant, Jennifer is responsible for providing administrative support and services to the Director of the EFCCM. Her position keeps the EFCCM running through her meticulous organization and upkeep of Project documentation, assuring we stay compliant with CRA guidelines and keeping all missionaries informed of policies and procedures. Her hobbies include keeping Dave on track and ensuring the team of managers has the minutes from last week.

Rich Peachey

Manager of Recruitment & Mobilization

As the Manager of Recruitment and Mobilization for missionaries outside of Canada (EFCCM), Rich is responsible for encouraging the development of a ministering culture among young people, and mobilizing those who are responding to God’s call upon their lives to serve either short or long term in overseas mission. He is constantly involved in training, mentoring, and coaching people who are in the process of moving toward overseas mission service, facilitating teams, and traveling to churches and colleges recruiting and casting a vision for world missions. Rich and his banjo roam together over Canada in search of witty lyrics and mission driven souls.

Robin Lesser

Communications Project Manager

As the Communications Project Manager, Robin is gifted in multiple programs and applications, all of which she uses to strengthen and maintain the EFCC’s communication efforts. She manages timelines for projects and lends her creative talents to design and branding. One of the most important roles for any communication team is to take input from a vast array of sources, and synthesise it into something that makes sense. Robin enjoys being in charge of the majority of the website content, and spends her time shaping the world of the EFCC to how she sees it.

Finance & Operations Department

Cathy de la Rambelje

Maria Cherry

Donor Relations Clerk

When it comes to checks and balances, Maria has the sharpest eye. As the Donor Relations Clerk, she ensures every donation that comes into the office goes to the correct designation and maintains our database to ensure the integrity of our records. She has a spreadsheet for everything, a passion for reconciling and happily takes on a challenge when it involves finding differences! Her attention to detail and her ability to find the needle in the financial haystack is unmatched. Likewise, her sarcasm and dry wit is second to none, especially considering the bold competition at our weekly staff meetings.

Laura Kehler

Assistant to Director of Finance & Operations

Laura provides administrative support and services to the Director of Finance & Operations of the EFCC. Her strong ability to work and communicate effectively with others leads to a smoothly run finance department. She also provides support with respect to financial activities, reporting, policies and compliance matters and still finds the time to shine on stage as her alter ego, actor-self, demands!

Ruth Leis

Receptionist

The first person you see and the first person you hear in the office is Ruth! As the Receptionist for the EFCC, Ruth provides assistance in a number of crucial ways. She welcome guests and greets people, co-ordinates front-desk activities, including distributing correspondence, redirecting phone calls, streamlining office activities and offering administrative support for the team. Ruth is unsure if the office is kidding around most of the time, shh don’t tell her.

Beverly Snowdon

Finance Administration Clerk

If you have a question about your expenses, Bev is the one to ask! She is responsible for providing financial, administrative and clerical services as part of the Finance Office Team. Working in an effective and efficient manner, she assists the team in ensuring accurate financial and administrative operations. Bev enjoys office change and can be counted on to tell you exactly what she thinks about it!

Janel Thomas

Finance Assistant

Janel assists the finance department in so many capacities. Any updates to the records of our missionaries, maintenance of donor information, sorting and sending financial mail and tax receipts all flow through her workspace. She handles all donation phone calls and is the voice at the end of our donations email address. She works closely with Maria in taking donations and ensuring that they go to the right designation. The sweetest part of the office team, Janel is a safe space for many to rest.

Deb Walton

Payroll and Benefits Administraton

Without Deb, the entire organization would not get paid! As our Payroll & Benefits Administrator she is the office favourite twice a month. She ensures we stay compliant with the government and coordinates the benefits plan not just for the office but for all of the churches and missionaries under the banner of the EFCC. Deb also administrates the GRSP/GTFSA contributions for the EFCC.
